Preliminary Task

Before we began construction of our music magazine we had to create a preliminary task, which helped prepare us as we learnt basic codes and conventions through this process. The task was to create a school newsletter which appealed and catered the needs of the students, parents and teachers. All images had to be originally taken by us and we had to try and follow basic codes and conventions of magazines. The task was worth 25% of our grade and would allow us to look back on it and see the way in which our preliminary task would differ compared to our final magazine, after learning, understanding and attaining the knowledge needed to attract our desired audience. I constructed my preliminary task using Microsoft Publisher and using basic events occurring year round I created my feature stories. The theme of my magazine was based on the charity 'Children In Need' and the inspiration including the colours and masthead of my magazine came from Rooks Heath's very own newsletter.
